West Coast Swing
Dance Lessons and Parties at the Atrium
West Coast Swing is a smooth and funky dance style, both hot
and cool at the same time! It combines the sensuality of a lead/follow
partner dance with an individuality that allows for playfulness
and creativity. We offer progressive beginner level classes as
well as a more challenging Open Level class for those comfortable
with their basics
7:00-8:00—West Coast Swing Easy Progressive Basics - Learn
the language of West Coast Swing dancing the easy way. No experience
or Partner needed We’ll have
you on the social dance floor in no time.
8:00-9:00—West Coast Swing Open Level Class - Drop in class.
For those who have developed good basic skills and are comfortable
with the dance, this class offers different patterns and variations
on the basics and adds in the technique that make them work well
for social dancing. We work on action/reaction, lead and follow,
musicality, dance flow and lots more here. You MUST be comfortable
with your 6's and 8's for this one. No partner is required.
Complimentary admission to the Wednesday night dance for those
taking EITHER lesson
9:00-11:30 (at least!)-Westie Wednesday Social Dance Party!!
A night of fun. Lots of WCS with a splash of Country 2, Night
Club 2, Hustle and Shag added in for a little extra flavor. Snacks
are provided. BYO drink or buy
one from the machine. Parking is free. Awesome wooden floor, great
music, friendly people, and fun dancing. Come dancing! $7 at the
door; $5 for Del Val
Swing Club members and full time students.
